Fashion Trends and Menopause. Argh!

In the world of fashion, for both women and men, it seems there's something new all the time. Personally, I tend to stick with women's clothing that works for me, (I'm not overly trendy). However, with a body that seems to change as quickly as the fashions do, it's not always easy.
I know what I like: higher waisted pants that sit at my natural waist, (not much into low riders), stretch denim, tunics, leggings and jeggings, tummy control pants, chiffon tops, skirts, cardigans, layering, shoes that are fashionable but comfortable, boots, infinity scarves, fit and flare dresses, etc. I like my clothing to compliment my figure, although lately, it seems like shapewear would be the first place I need to start!
Menopause is frustrating and it makes me want to take my entire wardrobe and toss it so I can start over. However, that will leave me with very little clothing and I don't have the wallet to buy an entirely new wardrobe!
So, I make due with what I have. I've already donated some clothes that make me feel worse, not better, about my changing figure and I manage to find tops, jeans, skirts, tunics and more on a piece by piece basis at the right price.
There are some fashion trends I love, while othere seem too "trendy" for me. I want clothes that will stand the test of time, (I've got some tops to prove it), but also want to feel good in what I wear.
The Macy's near me has sadly closed and I used to find a lot of women's clothing I liked there. Certain brands fit and I could count on them as the battle with my waistline ensued. Thankfully, I can still shop Macy's online. Style and Co. worked great for me, along with several other lines they carry.
I think the key is this: No matter what I wear, I want to feel good in it. I want comfortable clothes that fit my body shape but don't look like I'm trying to hide my body, either. It's not an easy place to be in, but I know I'm not alone. There are millions of women who are frustrated because their bodies are changing, and we need clothing that's fashionable, trendy in some cases and doesn't make us feel like we're ready for house-dresses. We're NOT!
