Women's and plus size clothing has come a long way. No longer do you need to search the Internet or spend hours in a department store looking for your size. Many of your favorite department stores and online catalogs have a much wider selection than you'd find if you visited the store and waited in line! The importance of measuring when buying clothing online: Most online fashion stores, department stores, cataloges and boutiques have sizing charts showing you exactly how to measure to ensure you get the right size. It's important to look for sizing charts and not assume if you wear an 8, it'll be an 8 in another style. There can be many variations- all determining what size you should order clothes in online. I've seen waist and hip measurements differ by over two inches, and that's a lot when it comes to pants, bras, blouses- just about everything. Be sure to check inseam sizing charts on jeans and trousers. You may wear a petite and not know it with one line of clothing, while in another your pant length would be a regular. Measuring is easy to do and worth the few minutes it takes- after all, you don't want to send back what you ordered! When it comes to plus sizes: Today, over 50% of American women wear a size 12 and up, and the fashion industry woke up to the needs of women with...bodies shaped like women. That's not to say a woman who wears a size six isn't shaped like a woman, but to those who wear larger sizes, clothing with the same current and trendy style was (at one time) hard to find. Not anymore. Our bodies are what they are and we can all feel wonderful with clothes that fit right and accentuate our positives. Activewear has not been left out of the fashion loop. Workout apparel offers support and style. No more hiding behind layers of sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc. There's no need. What you want covered is covered, and most importantly, sports tops and bras offer the kind of support you need while working out, going for a brisk walk, etc. Yoga wear in all sizes is plentiful, and will really bring out the 'Zen' in you. It's comfortable & breathable-just what you need while doing your yoga routine. Whether you like jeans that are high-waisted, sit at your natural waist, or sit below the waist, there are many styles to choose from in your size. Most have a bit of spandex in them- one of the best things to arrive on the fashion scene since sliced bread.
